Il 16 febbraio l'associazione Dieci Decimi in collaborazione con il bar-trattoria "Al Km 0" di S. Antonino di Susa (circa 35 km a nord di Torino) ha organizzato la presentazione del libro "Duria Minor" dello scrittore e guida naturalistica Danilo Merlo Falchero di Sant'Ambrogio di Torino.

Lo scrittore ci porta alla scoperta della Val di Susa seguendo il corso del fiume Dora Riparia che nasce dal Monginevro e giunge fino ad Almese.

Nel libro sono riportati i vari itinerari e passeggiate che si possono fare in Val di Susa. L'autore ci racconta le sue esperienze e le persone che ha incontrato durante il suo cammino, alcune delle quali gli hanno svelato i segreti delle ricette tipiche di questa stupenda valle.

Sono state proiettate foto dei luoghi da visitare e dei piatti tipici che sono stati riproposti dallo Chef Federico della trattoria Al Km 0. Abbiamo avuto la possibilità di degustare queste specialità  davvero squisite e molto particolari che non si trovano ovunque.

E' stata un'esperienza davvero speciale. Di questi eventi culinari e culturali dovrebbero esserne organizzati più spesso per rivelare le tradizioni locali, piemontesi e italiane.

Il libro è molto interessante e consiglio a tutti di acquistarlo per immergersi nella natura e nel mondo dell'enogastronomia locale.

Touring and dining in the Susa Valley

On February 16th,2019 the association Dieci Decimi in collaboration with "Al Km 0" restaurant from S. Antonino di Susa (35 km from Turin) presented the book "Duria Minor"by the writer and nature tour guide Danilo Merlo Falchero from Sant'Ambrogio di Torino (31 km from Turin).

The writer told us about the Susa valley tours that follow the course of the river Dora Riparia, starting from the Monginevro through the valley down to the town of Almese (28 km from Turin).

The book describes many tours in the Susa Valley along with the writer's experiences of friendship with the local people and the discovery of old recipes.

There was a slideshow with photos of places and typical dishes made by the Chef Federico of the restaurant "Al Km 0". This was a delightful event with great food tasting and a special experience. This kind of cultural and gourmet event should be held more often to reveal Piedmont and Italian food traditions.

I like trekking, but...

I like walking, trekking. It is a passion  of mine. I like visiting places on foot, but it is not so nice when it is winter and cold, and the car is broken.

On February 5th I had another meeting. I knew that the town I had to go, Fiano (about 35 km from Turin) was not easily reachable with public transportation. I didn't know, however, I had to walk for about four km through the park, Parco La Mandria,to reach my destination. This is a huge park located in the suburbs of Turin.

So I walked through the park on a tree-lined road. There was nothing around, only trees without leaves. I saw a wild boar piglet. I tried to take a picture, but it ran away quickly. Thanks God it was behind a fence!

When I saw this wild animal I thought of turning back, but I decided to keep on walking even I was a little bit scared. I made it to the meeting.

Another day... another experience. That's life.

Adoro fare trekking e le passeggiate è un'altra delle mie tante passioni, ma quando è inverno e la macchina è rotta non è proprio l' ideale.

Il 5 febbraio avevo un altro impegno in un paese, Fiano (circa 35 km da  Torino), un altro di quei luoghi che non sono facilmente raggiungibili con i mezzi pubblici. Dopo un viaggio di 45 minuti dal centro di Torino ho camminato per circa quattro km nel Parco La Mandria.

Il vialletto all'interno del parco era abbastanza inquietante in quanto c'erano solo alberi sfogli e probabilmente animali selvatici che, per fortuna si trovavano dietro le recinzioni. Ad un certo punto è spuntato un cucciolo di cinghiale e non so chi dei due era più spaventato. Entrambi abbiamo preso strade diverse. Avrei voluto fargli una foto, ma era già scappato.

Dopo quell'incontro ho pensato di tornare indietro e di cancellare l'appuntamento, ma alla fine mi sono fatta coraggio, ci sono andata e dopo un paio di ore ero di ritorno a casa sana e salva.
