What a strange adventure!

Roure - Torino - Piemonte - Italia
Roure  - Turin  - Piedmont - Italy

On January 31st I  had to travel to a business meeting. I knew the weather was not that good, but when  I woke up  I couldn't believe there was so much snow. I intended to drive to this village called Roure (about 80 km from Turin), but it was too dangerous.

Thanks to my smartphone I was able to get some information about the public transportation and I decided  to start my journey.

At 6:30 a.m. I took a train from S.Antonino di Susa (about 35 km from  Turin). Unfortunately the train was delayed 30 minutes. I ran to catch a bus to Pinerolo (about 60 km from Turin) and Perosa Argentina (about 80 km from Turin) then I changed another bus to arrive in Roure. It has never stopped snowing during this  three-hour journey. The panorama from the windows was fantastic. There was about 20 cm of snow and, I was not sure I would ever arrive in Roure due to  this bad weather.

Finally I arrived there.  I had about a 30-minute meeting.
When I left for the retourn journey, it kept on snowing. I  missed a bus and I had to wait about 30 minutes outside. I looked like a "snowwoman".
I had to decide which was the best way to go back home.

In the end,  I caught a bus to go up to the mountain from one side and down from the other side. With that bad weather it was a difficult decision. I travelled from Roure (about 860 metres high) through  Fenestrelle (about 1145 metres high), Pragelato (about 1500 metres high), Sestriere  (about 2000 metres high), then down to Cesana Torinese (about 1350 metres high). Finally I arrived in Oulx ( about 1100 metres high) at about 1:30 p.m.

I had a quick lunch (a warm soup and a stew) in a restaurant close to the railway station before catching the last train home,  but it turned to be  a bus because there was too much snow to travel by train.
At about 4:00 p.m. I was back home.
